Pad Thai At The Rising Sun

I am extremely disappointed with the quality of food from this restaurant. This is the third time we have ordered takeout from here, and each time has been a letdown. The first time, my family enjoyed the meal but I did not. The second time was a disaster, as they got our order completely wrong and we ended up throwing the food away. I complained to the manager and swore off ordering from there again. However, my husband, unbeknownst to me, accepted a discount on our next order. Months later, he decided to use it without telling me. The meal we received tonight was inedible - the coconut rice was soggy, the salt and pepper squid was overcooked, the Pad Thai was clumped together and rubbery, the red Thai curry was bland and overly coconut-flavored, the duck was greasy, and the satay and chicken wings were unappetizing. Most of the food ended up in the trash, and I ended up cooking after a long day. This experience has left me angry and frustrated. We will never order from this restaurant again, as they are expensive and provide subpar food.

We have dined at this restaurant six times now, and it has become our go-to spot for lunch every week. The food is delicious - this week, I tried the fried rice with king prawns, one of the best meals I've ever had. I'm looking forward to having it again next week. We only regret not visiting sooner! Highly recommend.

We came for dinner when visiting Thame. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful. Waiter for the restaurant wasn't so friendly when we decided to move from outdoor to indoor. We had a coconut rice, a green chicken curry and a red vegetable curry. The food was excellent. Very reasonable prices. Would recommend.

First visit and we were pleasantly surprised. We had the £11 lunch special and the food was tasty, well presented and very enjoyable. We finished with the cheesecake and ice cream along with coffee with a supporting double act of Tia Maria and Captain's spiced run. Very tasty. We will definitely return, sooner rather than later!

Judging by the number of good reviews I can only assume that we hit it on an off night. Apart from the friendly welcome from the young lady behind the bar, I can’t think of anything good to say. Dreadful seems to sum it up. Mean portions and nothing seemed fresh. Disappointing to say the least.
