Our function in the sports bar was an overwhelming success. Great communication from the Functions Manager, Kahyla, every detail was catered for and nothing was too much trouble. The food platters were generous and delicious! The bar staff on the night were great, serving our guests efficiently and with a friendly manner. Would highly recommend to have a function at the Commercial Hotel!

Been here a few times now but not for a while. I went today for lunch for a friend's birthday and ordered the Rump and Ribs special. The specials menu stated that the side was to be chips and salad which i was fine with. Upon ordering the lady taking my order clarofied with the chef as to what the side was for this special, i was then told it is mash and veggies. Thats fine by me but this was not stated on the menu. However, when our drinks arrived at the table the lady then clarified with me that I would in fact be getting chips and salad. I appreciated the fact that she had clarified and changed the order. The meal itself was ok however I asked for my steak to be cooked blue (bléu) which is how I enjoy my red meat to be cooked, this was not the case and it was cooked medium rare to well done. The steak was tough and chewy. The ribs on the other hand were amazing! Very well prepared and cooked just right so the meat just fell off the bones. Next time I go i think I will just order the ribs given how good they were. Price was very reasonable too, for the 2 bit of meat plus chips, salad and sauce cost me just under $25 which i took to be very good considering you can pay a similar amount just for a steak in other places. All in all its an ok place to eat for a quick and easy meal.
