Restaurant bewertenA very disappointing experience. Staff friendly and helpful, drinks OK but food below par. On next visit will use another pub
As restrictions were still in placed when we stayed in a Hawkshead lodge, we were only able to either eat outside the pub or tqke-away; we opted for take-away. Meals ordered were Belly Port with mash, jus, veg.......excellent meal. Pesto pasta with peppers, garlic bread....................again excellent. Lovely young lady served us, very pleasant. Another evening when it was drizzling we sat outside for drinks, only a few tables occupied, the tables were cleared by a chap who we think was the manager...............not a word was said, no greeting, no pleasantries. Could do better.
We had a wonderful meal at the Kings Arms and highly recommend it. I find it unnecessary for this site to have a 100 character minimum for reviews like this.
Table service only but it's not. The old woman will repeatedly walk past you as you try and get her attention and try and ask for anything. For over 10 minutes we sat there so thought we'd see how it would take to order. It was 17 minutes before another younger staff member asked for our order. Not the best way to do table service.
We ate here last week one evening and had a couple of beers in outside at other points during the week. We both had the steak pie which was nice as it was real short crust. Chocolate brownies afterwards were fairly off the shelf. Good social distancing of tables, except the one right under the bar which thankfully we didn't have. Would have expected serving staff to be wearing masks?
