Restaurant bewertenIt seems like I made the wrong choice with my order. I tried the Pad Khee Mao, which they described as flat spicy noodles. Unfortunately, it was bland and lacked flavor, which was quite disappointing. On the bright side, the fish cakes were enjoyable. Overall, I would rate the food a 2 out of 5.
The ingredients and fruits used in the food tasted fresh. We tried medium and spicy dishes, but even the spicy option wasn't as hot as other Thai restaurants. The service was good, with friendly servers. If you're looking for a fancy ambiance, you may be disappointed, but if you don't mind the cozy atmosphere of a small Asian restaurant, then you'll enjoy it. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant and would definitely return.
Oh dear, let me tell you about this restaurant experience I had! So, I went to this place expecting some tasty Thai flavors that would make my taste buds dance with joy. But alas, my hopes were dashed! The food lacked that distinct Thai essence, and the beef and chicken dishes were overwhelmed by chilli. Can you believe it? Chilli is great, but not when it's the only thing you can taste! To make matters worse, we tossed more than half of our meal. It was just not up to par, my friend. The only saving grace was the rice, which we managed to salvage. But let me tell you, it was far from the best Thai meal I've ever had, and I definitely won't be ordering from there again. No way, no how! But wait, there's more. The server brought me a Thai pad dish with shrimp instead of chicken. Can you imagine the disappointment? I politely let them know about the mix-up, expecting a replacement dish to be offered. But, alas, all I got was a measly $1 discount. Talk about underwhelming! Although the noodles didn't quite hit the spot, I appreciated the server's effort to rectify the situation. At least they tried, right? And here's another kicker: the yellow curry chicken lacked the necessary saltiness for my liking. I also brought this to their attention, hoping they would offer a replacement. But no, nada, zilch! They didn't even bat an eye. Sigh. It's like they didn't care about my taste buds at all. Overall, my experience at this restaurant fell far short of my expectations.
We have eaten Lotus Thai so many times over the past few years that it would be criminal not to give it five stars. The service is good--they are generally attentive (when I eat there in person for lunch or dinner) and it is often ready within 20 minutes if I order for pickup. The staff are very friendly. The food is what keeps us coming back. It is a solid option for Thai in the PA area. I've never been disappointed in something I've gotten here. Hands down, my favorite dish is the pumpkin curry--it is fantastic. Our other favorite dishes include the yellow curry, the pad see ew (we always request extra vegetables), and the pineapple fried rice. The pineapple fried rice isn't something I personally like to eat as a main dish, but it's a great thing to split between friends as a side dish.Other dishes I've enjoyed include the crispy duck, the murtabak, and the pad thai, though these are things I haven't reordered (they were good but not as good to me as the other dishes I've mentioned). The only dish I've ordered and haven't liked is the red curry (because I don't really like eggplant). In sum, this is a solid place that I would recommend to any friend. You'll probably end up spending around $20 a person here but we have found it's worth the price.
Fine food for a fair price. Very quick and attentive service. A lot of takeout orders during the lunch hour I was there. I'll definitely be back to explore the menu more and nail down some star dishes (I'm confident they have them).
