Restaurant bewertenFirst time trying African food. I was surprised they are very similar to some Asian dishes. We ordered according to what the waitress recommended. Goat Curry with Macadamia nuts The meat was super tender, the curry sauce is flavourful, but I felt doesn't need to order with nuts because the nuts have soften. Curry Fish Felt really like Indian curry, but the fish is good. Well cook. Fried Chicken Not enough seasoning in the meat. Fried chicken is tender and crispy. The dipping sauce is great tho. I love the spicy sauce. Cauliflower I think is one of the best dish for the night. Love the spice and the crunchiness when u take a bite of everything. Croquettes is flavourful. But for me it is not worth the price. The staff there was super friendly and good. Will return to try other dishes.
I was recommended by a friend to try this cafe which offered African inspired cuisine which didn't disappoint. I got the pulled pork burger which had a good balance of unique spices which intrigued my taste buds and I enjoyed the mini potatoes nuggets. The dish went well with filtered coffee. Dessert was a delightful raspberry soft-serve drizzled with dark chocolate fudge. The interior has a unique feel that gives off the homely vibe. Highly recommended for large groups to have a good get together.
Incredible experience at Kafe Utu. Highly recommend trying it out at least once (but trust me, you’d want to be back for more) Pulled pork breakfast had bold spices and flavours, especially in the pulled pork. Charred corn salsa was also great. The potatoes were slightly lacking in flavour compared to everything else, but still great. Buttermilk fried chicken: one of the nicest fried chicken dishes I’ve tried! Comes with 3 hot sauces in varying intensities. Loved the spiciest one the most. ricotta hotcakes were a feast for the eyes! Absolutely fluffy, tasty pancakes. Cacao Kali was amazing! The dark chocolate drink had spices, cinnamon whipped cream and a sprinkle of salt. Flavours were very well balanced service is top notch. Staff are extremely attentive Decor is very much on point!!
South African food in Singapore, but honestly we can’t tell if it’s authentic since we haven’t tried it before. Ambience, service and food presentation are great, but it comes at a steep price. Perhaps worth a visit to just get a taste of a new cuisine. Most food items are spicy, but you can request for spiciness to be removed put aside.
Had the goat curry and chicken curry, the portions were much bigger than they looked! Chicken curry was tastier. Goat curry was tender but the taste was ok only. Their rice was a bit dry. Their drinks are very nice and also very filling. I would come back to try their brunch menu next time.
