Maria's Italian Kitchen - Sherman Oaks

The food at Maria's was delicious and the service was outstanding. The restaurant was clean and pleasant. Although I hadn't visited Maria's in a while, I received a coupon in the mail for a buy one entree, get one free deal. Excited to use the coupon, a friend and I went to the location in Sherman Oaks last night. However, when we tried to redeem the coupon, we were informed that it could only be used for specific dishes and not for everything on the menu. This was not disclosed on the coupon, which only mentioned it couldn't be combined with another offer. Feeling disappointed, we decided to stay for dinner anyway. The whole experience left us feeling disgusted and we believe it was false advertising. When using coupons, we typically end up spending more as we order extras, but this was not the case here. We were not happy with our experience and will not be returning to Maria's anytime soon. I will caution my friends to be careful if they receive any coupons from the restaurant. It's not the restaurant's fault, as these coupons were likely sent out by the marketing department, but it puts the restaurant in a negative light.

The food was mediocre at best. The salads were drenched in dressing and overly chopped, despite only one salad being advertised as such. The chicken was excessively dry. One of the servers was friendly, but another was odd and snarky. I am uncertain if I will give this restaurant another try.

The increase in prices has made this once beloved family restaurant too expensive for us to visit. Salads now cost $19, appetizers are $17-$19, and entrees are all over $20. Unfortunately, we can no longer afford to dine here.

All good on this trip ! My lasagna was ready at the time promised and tasted delicious bravo !

My best friend and I love Maria's and we eat here all the time. The food is scrumptious and all the servers are so nice and helpful especially Ale (what a darling)! Thanks guys for the wonderful food served in a lovely atmosphere!! we will keep coming back!
