Restaurant bewertenGreat place to eat. Although small (8 tables) and usually a waiting period, it is worth it. The atmosphere is unique (the restaurant is in an old Alaska Railroad car), and the food is good.
Home Run!. Seriously picky foodie blown away by the spicy pulled pork sandwich. We went at noon hoping for breakfast, but SO glad we had to opt for lunch. The food is the best barbeque I've had in Alaska, hands down. Only wished I didn't live two hours away. The Smoked burger with bacon? I would drive down and wait for hours just to eat it! Can't wait to go back!
Cute little place. Friendly waitstaff. The pulled pork was good, but their Western Burger is hands down, no contest the best burger I have ever eaten. It was huge and juicy and dripping with jalepenos, peppers, and an orange jalepenos sauce. It was amazing.
Open until 8. The Smoke Shack is open for dinner. We went there at the end of a cold day. The restaurant is in an old train car and is not particularly warm, but the friendly waitress kept the warm drinks coming. The spicy pulled pork sandwich with homemade barbecue sauce was very tender and filling. Burgers and sandwiches come with beans and coleslaw. I heard that the portobello burger with goat cheese and the special smoked chicken burrito were both good, too.
Unique restaurant. We visited smoke shack for breakfast. it's a very cute little restaurant in an old train. so crowded we couldn't even eat inside (we chose not to wait). they were VERY understaffed, one cook, one waitress, so food took awhile. food was yummy, however. and the scenery, with the snow covered mountains in the background could not be beat!!
