Restaurant bewertenWe've been to Rawley's a few times this summer as a cycling destination for lunch. The patio is beautiful, overlooking the water. Lunches have been great and the atmosphere is very nice. Would recommend it.
Steak was prepared as requested. Grilled Pickerel was excellent. Cocktails were good.Breakfast was good. Candice is an excellent, perky server. She has good attention to detail with an upbeat personality. Suggestions to improve service in dining area and front desk:a) needs better pacing...crisper ...some servers are just perfunctoryb) needs coffee hot....thermos need better insulationc) bus girl should not be playing with her hair in the dining area...look busyd) too long a wait at front desk for attention. The reception desk sets the tone on first arrival. Guest takes priority.Otherwise recommend.
Another highly enjoyable dinner at the Rawley Resort. If you are a steak or prime rib lover, this is the place! Great food, excellent dinnertime service and a wonderful of the Severn River and historic Trent Severn Waterway makes for a memorable visit. Whether traveling by road or by boat, try to make this a stop along the way. And trust me, you'll be back ;-)
After reading reviews, my husband and I decided to give this restaurant a try. The service was not slow as other reviews have stated. Everyone was pleasant and our drinks and food arrived fairly quickly. The food however was a complete let down. I ordered the Ceasar Salad to start which was super under dressed. We shared the charcuterie board and it was the highlight - very delicious. My husband ordered the French Onion Soup and it was super bland. For our mains I had the Seafood Paella which I was really looking forward to but was a huge disappointment. Very very bland. Paella typically has a lot of flavour and this did not. It had scallops (which I'm not a fan of) and that wasn't included in the description of seafood included. And the mussels were VERY overcooked. My husband had the burger tower - which has BBQ sauce on it, but that was not included in the description on the menu. He would have not ordered it if it had. All in all it was a very poor food experience, and definitely not worth the price.
The food has been spotty in the past from outstanding to poorly prepared. The new chef seems to have taken charge with the waiting time needed to serve food and the quality levelling out. The chef maintains a garden with fresh herbs which he uses lavishly. The presentation is fabulous. Unfortunately breakfast can still be problematic. Service is average for a summer resort, where it is difficult to keep and train staff. Overall a great improvement under new management.
