Restaurant bewertenEthiopian is always a great VEG option but Seoul has been lacking in reliable centrally located places. Mama stepped in and filled that gap. Food is just as you would expect, which is a good thing. I was happy to just order the platter to make life easy. It was very good but I will ask for something spicer on the platter next time... because I am going again very soon.
I got the plate. the staff was very friendly and the food was quickly brought out. the courts were good, especially the middle one that was richly spiced with a lens shell. But I prefer the injera I had located to others, and there were less dishes than served in the past. the personal wore no masks.
I love Injera and it's great that there is another place in Seoul that offers a vegan/vegetarian version with several different toppings. They have a vegetarian platter which is Injera featuring several veggie toppings: Stews as well as mixed vegetables, some mild, others a little bit spicy. And the toppings change slightly each time! The size of this dish is huge probably enough to share for two people! (Price: 15.000 KRW) Apart from that, there are a couple of other veggie-friendly dishes, e.g. lentil stews, salads or noodles with tomato sauce. If you order e.g. lentil stew, it will be served with an Injera as a side as well. Their Injera dough is well fermented, so you can expect a strong sour taste here! Very soft and spongy texture, too, which is perfect for absorbing the sauces. Traditionally, this giant pancake/flatbread is eaten with your hands. But staff offers disposable plastic gloves for those, who don't want to get their fingers covered in sauce! Wet tissues and napkins are available, too. The restaurant is located in the basement and it's a dark but warm and cosy place maybe a bit smokey. The entrance is small and easy to miss if you don't look out! I’m so happy another Ethiopian place opened up in Seoul! I hadn’t had a chance to get there and I couldn’t take it anymore so I finally ordered delivery from Shuttle! It did not disappoint. The veggie plate was very flavorful, had a great variety and came with plenty of injera! Can’t wait to visit in person.
The restaurant has a very laid-back atmosphere and the server was friendly. I tried the Veg plate for the first time and it was excellent. I was impressed by the Ethiopian cuisine. I asked if the dish contained eggs before ordering and the server seemed a bit surprised, but assured me that everything was plant-based. I highly recommend this restaurant.
