Restaurant bewertenWe read great reviews about this place and decided to try it out. We love Italian food and know it is very hard to find a good Italian restaurant in Seattle, unlike NY. Well... this one was Italian wanna be again. The food is not italian and the taste was very deceiving. I 'm very sorry to write a review like this, I don 't like being negative, but we paid top cost for something that tasted like microwave TV dinner food. I don 't know if the previous reviews were from a previously owned restaurant or if the cook has left, but this place really needs some help with the quality of their food or try something else if Italian is not their specialty.
I had made reservations for 2, but when we got there, we stood in the cramped entryway for 5 minutes(! before someone noticed us and decided to come seat us (and there were many open and clean tables . The ambiance was above average, and there was a live piano player, which was kind of nice. The food was also good, although at $17 per plate, was probably on the pricier side for a moderate Italian restaurant away from downtown. Aside from being ignored for 5 minutes after we came in, the service was also a bit sub-standard. Our waiter gave a courtesy check on us shortly after the food arrived, and gave us a water bottle for the table for us to refill our waters, but never came around again until we finished. In the meantime, when the water bottle ran out out, he never came back to replace or refill it, which makes eating hot Italian food problematic. Overall, not an entirely wasted dinner, as the food was good. That said, the food itself probably wasn't worth the price to visit again, and the service was lacking and simply not competitive with other restaurants.
Come here every time we visit our son at UW. Amazing Italian food. Consistently delicious. Walking distance from u district hotels.
