Restaurant bewertenChef ramone is back and it was as if it were earlier “infallible”!
We enjoy this neighborhood restaurant. The night we were there two tables of very noisy people drove us crazy couldn't hear each other talk across the table. Normally it is quiet and that is the way we like it.
The food is excellent, the service is superb, and the staff has a can-do attitude. We keep coming back to this wonderful restaurant. I absolutely adore their cioppino fish stew.
There were five of us in our party. Some of the meals were good and others were not enjoyed at all. Our server seemed to be in a foul mood, hoping for the restaurants sake that this was a one off.
I used to come here pretty frequently. If you wanted exceptional Italian, Pane e Vino was the place to go! I would put it up against many of the best Italian restaurants in the US. Then they had some issues with management leaving. The chef left and it went downhill from there. I heard the chef returned so a friend and I decided to go. I recommended she get the Fettuccini Alfredo as it used to be the best I had ever eaten. I went for the Eggplant Parm another fabulous dish of the past. Both were horrible. The Alfredo sauce was thin and had too much nutmeg; the noodles stuck together. The eggplant had a thick crust and one piece wasn't fully cooked. We shared our concerns and the server generously removed the items from our bill. Then someone brought us a complimentary tiramisu. The staff went out of their way to take care of us. I just wish the food would return to the quality it was before. It's hard to understand how the same chef can cook so differently.
