Restaurant bewertenI have been dining at this restaurant regularly for the past 15 years, traveling between Houston and San Antonio and stopping in on many different occasions. The wait staff has remained consistently friendly over the years. I have never opted to order off the menu, as I highly recommend the buffet for those who enjoy home-style cooking. The buffet typically offers a variety of dishes such as chicken noodle soup, fried chicken, ribs, sausage, roast beef, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, assorted vegetables, and goulashes. The menu may vary daily, but the food is cooked in a Czech/German style that I personally love. Occasionally, I have strayed from the buffet to steal a few bites of my kids' chicken strips and french fries. I suggest giving it a try.
We absolutely fell in love with this place. While being on the road for the past week, we were craving some real food! This was a wonderful surprise. They had a buffet filled with meats, veggies, and assortment of breads, rolls and cornbread, and a wonderful, fresh salad bar, as well as a soup and a dessert. Even though we had to get ours to go since we had our dog with us, it was so fresh and still more food than I could eat! My husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It was so filling, and he loved it. (He's originally from Texas. To top it off, everyone who worked there was welcoming and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. It reminded me of home. There was also a cute little gift shop area with local goods, gifts, souvenirs and spices and treat. We will definitely stop back by on our next coat-to-coast drive.
Absolutely terrible! I have had some really good experinces there, but this last visit, will be my last. Everything in the order was incorrect. It must have been an off night for them as they usually get it right. I hope they can get it figured out. No ill will, but no more of my business for them. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Loved this place. AMAZING good. Great service. Awesome atmosphere. We tried the buffet today and it DID NOT disappoint. My fave was the fried chicken. OMG So good. The breading was full of flavor. It was juicy and fresh and quite possible the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Mashed potatoes and gravy were in point. Smoked ribs were awesome. Just a great experience and worth the drive from Houston. Even the coffee was great. Ramona did a fantastic job today. Will definitely come back.
Food was okay, but nothing exciting. The service was horrible though. Don’t stop in if you’re in a hurry to be anywhere. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
