Restaurant bewertenWe decide to have a meal at this restaurant, even though we had never tried it before. the menu was extensive, but i decided to stick to dishes I knew, starting with the standard nems and then for the main course fried rice and a pork dish. the food was well prepared and tasty. The service was a bit slow, but it did not bother us as we were in a group enjoying a good conversation. The restaurant was reasonably decorated, pleasant but not over bearing. The price was very reasonable.
The service was extremely slow with only one lady trying to manage takeaway orders as well as failing to provide an adequate service for people trying to eat in the restaurant. The starters were good when they finally arrived after a wait of more than 90 minutes. Sadly this was the highlight of a most disappointing evening. The main course was poor bland food with different dishes tasting much the same. Under spices and under seasoned. When we go out for a meal we feel it reasonable to expect something better than we would be able to cook at home. Sadly, despite the time available to cook us an amazing meal, the chef was clearly not up to the task. I would recommend almost anywhere else in Saumur.
Having booked in advance for 6 persons on Saturday evening at 19.30 we arrived at a relatively empty restaurant. For nearly 1.5 hours we had no communication with the one women server visible despite trying to attract her attention (it was too late to try find another restaurant for 6 people across the bridge in Saumur). Yet there was a continuous stream of takeaway orders being met. There was no apology for the delay from the server, indeed they displayed a certain impatience to hurry up our order. There was nothing special about the food as it proved fairly 'samey '. We have local restaurants in London with far superior fare at same cost. Overall we were at a loss to understand how it achieved its previous overall rating on Trip Advisor. Our advise is avoid.
We went to this restaurant wanting to try the cuisine a la carte. Often in France you find Chinese buffets which are more or less a similar fare if good...We found the menu large and the dishes really good. They were as close to the traditional Chinese cuisine you could get in France. The food was delicious and well served. The décor of the restaurant was nice.My son was served a Chinese adaptation of chicken nuggets ie. chicken slices rolled in thin batter and fried (not oily...), that he absolutely lovedThe service was nice and acceptable, nothing exceptionally out of the ordinary though...A bit expensive if you compare to buffet restaurants in France, but on its own it is definitely good value for money...Overall a nice evening out with the family...On our next visit to Saumur will definitely revisit...
I've always like Chinese food but in the UK have found the menus rather limited and repetitive, the deserts being a choice of two items and poor ones at that. So this first visit to a French Chinese restaurant was a delightful surprise: a very large and varied menu with lots of seafood, which I really enjoy. And the desert choice was considerably than two! The food was very well cooked, presented and served, all to the highest possible standard. The restaurant also provides a takeaway service, although the menu is more limited; however it seems you can include items from the main menu if you ask.The waitress, who served, us was charming and amazingly efficient: she was the sole person on duty but not only served on the tables but also dealt with the bills and the takeaways .The restaurant is on the bridge over the Loire on one of the main roads out of Saumur. There is plenty of free street parking nearby (this isn't England!) including many disabled spaces.
