Restaurant bewertenCute looking and smelled good...but the pastries in the front were not labeled and the worker offered no assistance. When we did ask what was in one of the items...she did not know (?).I am guessing that they don't actually bake anything on site then...or you would hope they would know what they were selling. For a 'bakery'...poor selection of actual baking.Butter tart tasted store bought. The Tech building is really cool and seems like they have the right idea...but the bakery needs to be better.
Came to the Sault for a shower at the Tech with friends for the weekend. Went to Santini's Bistro for their breakfast too much food. Excellent! Then we walked around and found this great bakery. As we entered this bakery you could smell the freshly cooked take away food. It had a range of five different selections from pasta and meatballs to chicken parmesan and veggies. Loved the decor, warm and inviting. Staff was informative. Apparently the new Baker can really showcase her baking. The OMG's donuts were huge, fresh and so delicious. They have to advertise this place. So much to offer. Wish this building was in Toronto. Our group will definitely be promoting this place. My girlfriends daughter ordered her shower cake from here. Jen what a beautiful job!
This little place is well hidden inside The Tech -- a redesigned and repurposed high school in mid-town Sault Ste Marie. The venue is very welcoming and modern on the first floor of the 3-storey building. They feature freshly-baked goods including breads, sweat and savoury goodies. They also have prepared frozen dishes for single/double size and family service, convenient to take home after work. They serve warm lunches, sandwiches and wraps, as well as salads. There is some seating in the hallways. A great place to pick up a meal or to satisfy your taste for pastries.
After having breakfast at Santini's restaurant, we wandered over to the bakery to check it out. this bakery is great. it's small but there is a large selection of homemade pastas and breads. the staf is very helpful and made recommendations. I recommend anon go in and check it out. you'll not be disappointed. My son got a doughnut. he loved it!
I absolutely love a good Black Forest Cake. What we got was not good. The bottom two layers were SO HEAVY, a fork and KNIFE was needed to eat it. The chocolate shavings were "odd". The saving grace was the real whipped cream and cherries, but the cherry stems weren't necessary. Overall, an experience I wouldn't recommend and don't wish to repeat.
