Restaurant bewertenStopped here on a whim yesterday with our 10 year old grandson. The smell of BBQ was amazing as you walked in the front door. We were greeted immediately by staff and found a table easily. Our server was friendly and attentive. The menu is large, and while it is often difficult for me to find things to eat, because I am vegan and gluten free...there was a beautiful salad available. My husband and grandson had the ribs, baked beans, Cole slaw and fries. They were very happy. The food, service and atmosphere were great. We will definitely be back again.
I 've been going here for years and to the Sarasota spot before this one. Normally I 'm a big fan particularly of the Swine^2 (Squared) but today 's experience was lackluster at best. Its Memorial Day as well as someones birthday. We attempted to first call 3x and no one answered. Even tried the older number online still x2 and still got no answer. Figured they may be closed for Memorial Day so I went to their Facebook to check. Saw that around 5:30pm online ordering was suspended for the day citing high volume. No biggie, I live close so went over to order in person. Not only was there no one in line when I arrived but restaurant was maybe 25% full? Spent minutes ordering yet by the time I finished only one other customer had entered behind me. They have a Monday Special of 5.99 for pulled pork or chicken sandwich but now added with marker on the signs the deal is dine in only. When asked half jokingly if we could still get the deal as I was ordering 2 pulled pork sandwiches w the rest of my meals they asked a manager who was unfriendly about it. Frankly I should 've just bought a drink, sat down, and got a to go box as I was tipping anyhow... but rules are rules as stupid as they can be, I get that. Being polite isn 't difficult though especially when the deal is unclear and the signs have been edited after printing... ended up with my Swine^2 still some pork trays and sandwiches for family. The BBQ as well as sides of red potatoes, collared green, and cornbread were all meh at best this evening too... It 's just disappointing to see one of you 're favorite spots underperforming though I guess. ?
It was my first time there. I was in town for the day and I stopped in for lunch. I had the pulled pork sandwich. I was expecting it to come with a lot of barbecue sauce already on it, but there's a lot of sauce at the table so you can put as much as you like on it. Next time I'm in town will probably stop back in and try something else.
One of the few places where I should have listened to the reviews. Ordered non-marbled brisket. Was room temp, dry and tough. Only way I was able to eat some of it was to drench it in the BBQ sauce, which was decent. Mac n’ cheese side was crusty. Seems like the food had been sitting there for a few hours. I ate a few of the pieces of brisket and 2 bites of the mac n' cheese and threw the rest away. Won’t return and I don’t recommend this place. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because I liked the BBQ sauce
Have eaten there many times, and every time we go we say we’re not going back, but tried it again tonight . Brisket was dry, tough chewy. Very disappointed, again. Too expensive for the quality. Won’t go again
