Restaurant bewertenTourist in the city and tried both here and Mountain Mist (Pine Cone was always closed without hours). Mountain Mist has the best location right at the water in downtown Saranac Lake, but this place has a great view of the mountains, some lawns can sit you, and a beautiful agricultural atmosphere. They have a tiny little taste and no options except the taste of the day on a cone. Their only choice is size, honestly given the LONG lines in which we stood (probably 50 people deep every time), I wish they would not even offer a size choice (listening that people discussed the sizes inside was torture). The soft portion is $3 $4 per cone depending on the size. We went several times as this place was by far the most creamy and tasty soft dishes we ever had. I mean, I don't get this place in summer, you can get $1 soft serving at McDonalds, so these are incredibly expensive, but I guess you pay for local and high quality. The incredible thing is that they closed in the middle of the week while we were for the rest of them year, despite the 50 never end line every day. I don't know about you, but if I could calculate this price for my cones and my only overhead was high school children's hourly wage and some of my local cream, I would keep this thing open much longer. If you want the best, this is the place.
The classic spot– can't remember how far back they go but I've heard my Dad talk about waiting in line in the 1960's for ice cream there… – it's just the best ice cream… what more can be said?
Superb homemade soft ice cream with special flavors and reasonable prices.
Cash only. One flavor twist per day. Deliciously creamy and unlike any soft serve I've ever had! I was visiting ADK for 5 days and went there twice. I got to try strawberry/vanilla and cherry/vanilla. They have packaged pints/half gallon containers from previous flavors to purchase as well.
Hands down the best ice cream ever.. just pick the size you want..
