Cafe El Palomar - Santa Cruz

Excellent service and the Mango Margaritas fantastic, but the food wasn't! I just ordered Nachos, right? At first, the chips of Costco seem to be, do you know the huge bag for like 3 dollars? Good for home, but in a Mexican restaurant? I don't think so. There were cheeses on maybe 4 of the chips, Guacamole had no taste. I expected a lot better for the price. There are much better places for food, but the service could not be beaten.

Yummy! Love the chips and salsa. So delicious! This place has a few places to try. One in downtown Santa Cruz and one in Watsonville. I love this situation especially for sitting and eating. It is right on the beach and you can enjoy the beautiful sea view while enjoying your delicious food. Today I had Steak ranchero. Charbroiled Rock Steak cut into small strips in this amazing tasteful sauce. It comes with rice, beans and your choice of tortillas. You have many other great things on the menu. The Taquitos and Fajitas are also favorites.

We love this place. Food, service, cleanliness and value is always superior. The view of the beach, the lighthouse, the sand volleyball, whether sitting inside or outside, is always fun. We go several times every summer and every experience is exceptional. Do you love Chillaquillas Rojas? but all we have ordered is wonderful.

For ten years we have come here, great food, child-friendly and good service. Chile verde burritos wet are my favorite. I also love the chiliquiles rojo. Large chips and salsa and homemade corn tortillas also.

05/01/2022 It was a Sunday and lots of people at the beach. I didn't want to give up my free parking spot in front of the beach so I decided to order something here. The restaurant was packed and there was a line to order. I ordered the Carne Asada Nachos to go which came to almost $17 with tax and a tip? They were OK. I could eat the whole thing. So it will one starving gluttonous person or feed two not-so-very hungry people. If you order $15 or more of food you get chips and salsa no charge for dine in. There was a restroom available but I didn't use it. There is limited seating inside and some seating outside the restaurant. You can watch volleyball or enjoy people watching and the ocean view.
