Restaurant bewertenBeautiful location! fabulous music that we enjoyed wonderful eating aswell! beautifully cooked and presented. if we really want to be fussy, the tirimisu was too creamy and sweet, but this is personal preference. the rest was really nice.
One of my favorite places. the restaurant works from mai to oktober. it is located on the dach of the small hotel la farandole. the service is friendly, they speak French, English and Russian. the menu is excellent: good appetizers, fresh fish and meat, a good wine variety. the sea with small boats, the island opposite the sky! this is a good place for dinner with friends or family.
When we arrived and saw the panorama and the hotel, we thought it was one of those gastronomic experiences that they rarely get! but as soon as we came out of the elevator and heard the laughing and loud waitress, who swarmed around in the kitchen, we were already surprised. that doesn't sound very professional. then we got no one to welcome us! So we went to our table that was booked in advance by ourselves! when the beautiful but seriously vivid waitress finally arrived with the menu, we started to doubt us with our choice of the place. the tables had no table linen, they were torn, and it was very casual. one of the glaszaun was broken and you were hardly lighter to read the menu enough to see the very high prices that would not be important if everything were on scratch. we were there to have a wonderful experience, we thought! now after this damaging start we ordered some drinks that come forever. So we ordered the meals as soon as they brought us the appetizers and after 1.5 hours we got our first dish. we were 6 of us and only 5 of us ate at different times as they forget our meal. the tellers were also cold, the meals were half served, and the whole experience was just a sweat. we wanted to talk to the manager, but nobody was there to monitor this mess. as a restauranter ourselves, we have never experienced such a thing. it was amazing! we were looking for a hidden camera when we thought it was just a stroke someone was playing on us. but after the testify every single hospitable who made the spatialities extremely angry, we understood that it was real. this place must be taken over by a profi who knows how to run a restaurant. they have the view and the location, now they need profis in the kitchen and in front of the house. Do not go there until owners...serious! I've never seen and experienced anything like that in my life.
Food is ok but service was miserable. Waited over an hour after reservation before any food or drink was provided. Waiter unable or uninterested in getting the check paid. View is wonderful but the lighting at night is closer to a disco than a restaurant....The light change colors fairly quickly which makes reading a menu difficult. Would be helpful if I wanted to dance but just annoying when trying to enjoy dinner and the view.
We went to La Farondole for dinner Sept 6, 2014. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, in the area where we had our wedding, we 'd spent a wonderful day at the beach, and we were really looking forward to our evening. However, we were very...disappointed. AMBIENCE: The rooftop restaurant is in a beautiful spot. Unfortunately the restaurant itself is a total waste of that space. All of the tables are unfortunately illuminated by garish spotlights which change colour from a lurid red, to ghastly shades of blue and green, evoking alternately a horror movie, a dark room and a laboratory. I did ask our waiter if he could turn it off, and he asked me why. I told him that it was unpleasant to have the coloured lights flashing in our faces at close range, and that it impaired our ability to enjoy the beautiful view of the twinkling lights of the harbour. Then I asked him if he thought the poor old couple seated beside us, in that moment lit up in a ghoulish bright green, liked the lights. He said he didnt know, and refused to turn the light off. I subsequently asked one of his colleagues if he could at least turn the flashing light away from our faces, he obliged and then turned our light off. So in La Farandole 's defence, it did turn out that we had the bad waiter. In addition to the lighting, the chairs were much much too low in relation to the height of the table absurdly so. At 5ft 4 , the table top came to just below my shoulders the result being that I had to eat like a pet, with my nose practically IN the bowl!! FOOD: After reviewing the menu, I asked our waiter whether there was any main course available that we would not have to cook ourselves. He said no. I then explained that we had arranged babysitting, and were out that evening to celebrate our ten year wedding anniversary. That we would like to take the time to talk and be together, rather than cooking our own dinner, and was there any possible chance, the chef could simply cook our dinner for us. The waiter said no. With an 8pm, Saturday night dinner reservation, it was 840 by the time we got to order our main course, and too late to go elsewhere, so my husband ordered the meat plate, and I ordered the seafood plate. We were subsequently presented with two platters of completely raw meat and seafood the prawns were not even peeled, headed or tailed! So v fishy smelling fingers for me on our evening out! : We were also given a little hotplate to cook on! I asked for a spatula and an apron the answer was again no. We then asked if we could have two clean plates to eat off, the waiter asked why. So we explained that it would be unhygenic and unhealthy to eat of the platters that had been used to serve raw steak and seafood. Begrudgingly, we were afforded two small side plates. We then began the work of trying to cook our dinners on a hotplate with only a fork. And then we shared the other fork to eat with!! And used the ice in the wine bucket to wash our hands!! Lucky we didnt order red! Having just picked up my silk dress from the dry cleaners that morning, I was very annoyed to get it spattered with grease from cooking in it without an apron. Let me tell you I would not have cooked dinner in that dress at home! My husbands meal came with a side of mayonnaise and bearnaise sauce. Mine came with nothing to season any of it aside from a few sprigs of thyme. So you can imagine the end result was extremely dull and bland. I should also mention that our little hotplate stopped working while we were in the middle of cooking our dinner, and had to be replaced!! The raw meat was served with sides straight from a school cafeteria. One bowl of fat greasy fries, served with a lid on to keep them warm while we cooked soggy! and another lidded bowl of luke warm, semi mashed carrots seriously, I am not kidding ! I should mention that my starter salad was fine my husband didnt like his. And you can imagine, that we didnt stay for dessert, opting to have an ice cream on the beach instead. I should also add that the waiter never once filled our wine or water glasses. All in all the experience was absolutely unbelievable. At the end, I said I have only two questions, 1 do we have to do the dishes as well, for part of the experience? and 2, where exactly, are the hidden cameras??? PRICE: One bottle of wine, two starter salads, and the ikea of dinners, for you to make yourself Euros 130. We didnt have any aperitif, as the cocktails were in the range of 16 18 euros each!! MY ADVICE: Go elsewhere.
