We loved everything about this dining experience. It's definitely one of the best steaks we've ever had.
I had an exceptional time at the steak house! The atmosphere was inviting, and the service was top-notch. The steak was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The wine selection was impressive and paired wonderfully with the meal. A true haven for steak enthusiasts. Looking forward to my next visit!
Thursday night dinner for 1. No reservation, seated right away at the bar.Excellent food. Flat iron steak and a side of button mushrooms, both at the recommendation of the bartender, Jason. Ordered the steak rare: cooked perfectly, flavor similar to a ribeye but without all the extra fat, and tender like a filet. Served with a few different sauces on the side. I am by no means a sauce guy a bit of butter and salt to taste is all a steak ever needs, in my opinion. But their house made steak sauce is very good, definitely worth trying.The button mushrooms are something special. Too often, I've found mushroom dishes at steakhouses to be oily or greasy, but this was definitely not that. Cooked al dente: a bit toothy, great texture. The flavor is amazing: a deep, savory umami flavor. Very well executed.The decor of the bar area is very plain and just sort of thrown in there. Not bad, just feels like sitting in an airport or hotel lobby instead of a higher end steakhouse. Definitely deserves a more thoughtful treatment considering how good the food is.Would recommend and will repeat.
The bartender Jason is absolutely amazing, I come to SLO every year or so and I come to this restaurant everytime because of his service. He makes killer tequila drinks and makes an entirely new tequila cocktail for us each time. If I ask him to makeup a tequila cocktail, without a bat of his eye he'll make us multiple unique cocktails that were all delicious. Efficient, beyond professional, and a master bartender.
