Restaurante Baro - San Juan

This restaurant was packed when we passed the day before, so we decided to try it for dinner. We were really impressed by it's typical Argentine food yes, but good quality, pretty cheap prices, a bit more variety than usual, and fast, friendly service. I had a salad and my friend had the 'wok chicken' that was smudged with vegetables. Both were a welcome change of Steak Pizza Pasta. Beautiful local wines also available. Would recommend!

We had to pastas in this busy restaurant. One was ok, the other one was not speciAl at all. The sauce was quite watery. I would skip pizzas as they did not look very tasty. Go here for a quick meal but do not expect too much.

Tried baro 1st night in San juan and we were very disappointed. We ordered salad and pasta. Salad was ok but the pasta hd no flavour and only 3/5 of the ingredients in the menu. When we asked to be sent back the cook sent it right back in 5 minutes unchanged. Explained this to a 2nd waiter and got tired of waiting so we left. Paying the bill was a joke as no apologies were even hinted. If you are keen on waiting for average food try this place.

This was the only place we could find to eat on a Sunday evening in January in San Juan. Even then it did not open until 8.30 despite their own website saying 7.30, but the food was wholesome and the prices excellent. For 1000 pesos including tip, we had a chicken breast with pumpkin purée and a steak sandwich, plus a bottle of local white wine and a bottle of water, accompanied by a bread basket. Ambience good, service efficient and plenty of local custom suggesting it is consistent.

Found this hip Italian restaurant by chance, and the food was delicious! Between me and my friends we ordered a pizza Margarita, Tortellini and a Cesar salad but the offer was endless. The portions were huge and we definitely got our money's worth. The prices on the menu were also very reasonable and the staff were very attentive and friendly, packing everything we couldn't finish for takeaways as well. The restaurant itself is nicely furnished, with tables inside as well as outside and a very modern atmosphere. Overall, a popular place to go for the locals and great to have dinner!
