Restaurant bewertenAbsolutely the best steaks ever!!! Highly recommend to try the chef’s suggestions, have a glass (or two of Malbec and enjoy a great dinner!
Excellent service. Excellent food. Good value. 5 stars. Definitely would go back. Nice ambiance. Hidden gem. All members had different dishes and it was good.
Went for dinner here as we were staying across the street and wanted a meal close to the hotel. The interior was welcoming and after hunting around for staff we were seated at a nice wooden table. The waiter was extremely polite and welcoming and offered some suggestions to help us with our meal. The kids ordered Spaghetti and a chicken sandwich, and we went with the mixed meat grill to share. The spaghetti noodles and sauce had a very different taste that we were not used to, from all of the pasta we have eaten around the world, this one seemed quite different and not recognizable. The chicken sandwich was a massive surprise for a children’s menu item but was well presented and tasted great. The mixed grill came with huge cuts of meat, with mashed sweet potatoes and fried green plantain. The meat was quite chewy and the flavour was very neutral. Mashed sweet potatoes were great but the plantain was quite hard to the bite. Would ideally like to try this place again as may have been an off night, seems the local Google review give it a thumbs up. Thanks for the dinner and hopefully we can try again.
We went on a Friday evening and restaurant was very quiet. Got very attentive and friendly service and the steak was wonderful, melt-in-the mouth meat. The waiter suggested that 'rare ' in Costa Rica is 'blue ', so I went with medium-rare which was cooked to same degree I would expect in UK. So would not suggest changing your usual steak cooking preference if visiting from UK. Sides not so great with vegetables a bit hard and bitter, plantain very dry. Had empanadas to start with and they were tasty. It 's not a cheap meal, mind you very little is in San Jose.
We were a group of 8. We were given our private dining area which was great. We arrived at 7:45 but had to wait well over an hour for our food to arrive. This was because another group had arrived ahead of us. The tenderloin steak was very tasty and tender. One of our friends had ordered surf and.turf and found the steak to be very chewy. The waiter started clearing our plates before we had all finished and was asking if we wanted dessert. We said we would like to finish the main course first and have a 5 minute break. We were told this was not possible as kitchen was closing and the restaurant closing at 10. It was only 9:30 and we were eating late because we had to wait so long for our main course. Two of us decided to quickly have a dessert; the chocolate mousse was delicious despite not being a mousse! This was our last meal together having had a wonderful holiday in Costa Rica and it was a shame that the poor service in this restaurant left us with a bad last experience.
