Restaurant bewertenCalm, Cool and Tasty, I haven't had a good cheese steak since visiting Philly... wish i would have come to this awesome spot a lot soon! 10/10Food: 5/5
My favorite sandwich shop is no longer my favorite. I took myself and a coworker to lunch today and ordered two cheesesteaks and an Italian hoagie. The cheesesteaks were perfect, but the Italian hoagie was a different story. It was loaded with everything I didn’t want, and none of what I did want. For example, I specifically asked for no lettuce, yet it was piled high with it. I asked the girl behind the counter if she could remove the lettuce and wrap it to go. After a long day at work, I got home eager to enjoy my Italian hoagie, but it still had the lettuce and none of the toppings I wanted. What a disappointment!
The onion rings were passable—just okay, nothing special. To make matters worse, there was an infuriating "HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT TO TIP?" checkout screen when I went to pick up my food. Maybe that's why my sandwiches were so disappointing? I only tip well for waitstaff, drivers, etc., and I didn’t tip this time. On the positive side, the restaurant was nice and clean, located in a pleasant area, and the employees seemed friendly, aside from making a disappointing sandwich—perhaps because I didn’t tip for pickup? I’m giving it 2 stars for that. But overall, the food, price, and the pressure to tip for pickup are not worth it. I expect much more from the highly-rated food in San Dimas. I'm now 0-2 with local recommendations and have lost trust in reviews. Time to head to Giovanni's in Fullerton; at least I know that place is excellent.
The woman at the counter was quite rude; she didn't greet me and lacked any sense of friendliness. It would be more courteous to hand items directly to customers instead of placing them on the counter. I think she could benefit from some training.
It 's okay. $11.99 for a moderate sized cheese steak and nothing Philly about it. Add fries and a soda and you 're looking well over $20. All of that and the dismissive "I hate my life "lady behind the counter was bean counting the number of napkins I took telling me she gave me napkins (2). Well I needed more. Lady if you don 't like your job then go find something else. Don 't bring your shitty attitude to work.
