Restaurant bewertenRosita Rios is a very famous Peruvian cook that has been preparing traditional Kcriollo cookery in the heart of ancient Lima since 1940. Her granddaughter revived this restaurant and the same family retuffled at a new location at 223 Primavera Avenue in San Borja. The restaurant serves only the best Pisco, judged by the leading expert on Pisco in the world. The Pisco Sauer are dying, and I had them all over the country and not better than this place. There is no fluffy fashion food here! Thank God! Aros con pollo is delicious, but my favorite is the Cullpulca (not safe on the spelling) consisting of dried potatoes. The difference is this patatoe shaking a hint of smokey taste that exposes it. Finish your meal with a plate of fresh picoronnese (a kind of light donuts that go beyond what you think) and you are set.
The original Rosita Rios in Rimac near the Ancho bullring was opened in 1940 by Rosita Rios. It served typical traditional Peruvian dishes at reasonable prices. Everything under the vigilant eye of boss/owner Rosita. Some kind of mom or a later grandma takes the food. In the early 1970s we went every week before the bullfights. It closed about 25 years ago when Rosita died. Now in the San Borja district of Lima it was reopened by its great grandchildren. Food and service is wonderful from well made pisco acidic to the anticuchos of beef heart and keviche to ají de gallina and others. The Dessert Picarones were enormous. Welcome back Rosita....
Qué grato reencuentro con una sazón de antaño. Este restaurante fue muy famoso en los 60s y 70s. En esa época se ubicaba en el Rimac. Hoy abre sus puertas en este local amplio, con excelente iluminación, servicio y sobre todo calidad de comida. Ofrece un pique o Criollo y platos a la carta que son para compartir. Qué rica comida! Repetible y super recomendado!
El recuerdo del Rosita Ríos del Rimac en la década de los 50 renace con este elegante local que ofrece una deliciosa cocina. La carta está liderada por platos tradicionales, siendo corta para ser más eficiente. Disfrutamos de un delicioso cabrito norteño con frejoles, buenos anticuchos y un magnífico lomo saltado. Los picarones fueron el broche de oro para la comida. El restaurante cuenta con mesas en un patio grande, el cual es bastante ventoso y puede resultar incómodo para los comensales. Nos tocó una mesa en ese espacio y la comida se enfrió rápidamente. Sería recomendable que tomen medidas para mejorar esta situación. Mientras tanto, es aconsejable reservar en las mesas de los salones cerrados.

The food and service is wonderful from the well made pisco sours to the anticuchos of beef heart and ceviche to ají de gallina and others. The dessert picarones were tremendous.
