Carson Kitchen - Salt Lake City

The menu at this restaurant is unique and offers a variety of dishes that we were excited to try. The food was delicious, especially the risotto and tempura green beans. Our server was attentive, but the delivery of our food and drinks was very slow. We waited for over an hour from the time we were seated until our first dish arrived. Despite the slow service, we had a great experience overall.

The food is delicious, but be prepared to wait for it.

Unfortunately, all of our fried dishes seemed to be overcooked, possibly due to the oil being too hot or the cook leaving them in for too long. The patrons at the table next to ours even had to send their food back because it was overdone. On the bright side, the service was excellent!

First, our first night server was incredibly kind and helpful. Awesome. Second, our meal cost over $100 for food that was.. meh. Just OK. My burger was dry and slightly overcooked. My wife's chicken sandwich the same: an overfried breast sitting on a mountainous bun without much... juice. I will say that the mac and cheese was very good. Now, should we expect more on a Monday night? Maybe not. Maybe not the A team, maybe not the freshest ingredients. But again, $100 for a just OK meal is not OK with us.

Great drinks, so flavorful! Excellent food. Fun sitting at the chef's counter!
