Restaurant bewertenAbsolutely delicious fish and chips!! I never knew the meals sold!!! Now I want to go back every day and try something new!!! Do not see this place over!! I was dragged by the name fish market until I went to the salad shop and it was closed.... now that I know.... I'm back! You should also go if you want to eat or order a fresh seafood!!!
I like to go here for dinner occasionally for their shrimp louie salad special with a cup of New England clam chowder. Chowder is rich thick with lots of finely chopped clams, veggies. For me, the salad always has enough shrimp to last until the last bite. My husband likes their fish chips. 4 thick pieces of fish lightly breaded deep fried. Fries are just OK. It is a fish market, too. Their prices are competitive always looks fresh. Another person had about 6 to 8 large grilled prawns on their salad.
Family run market restaurant. Absolutely fresh fish every time. Simple but very good. Crab Coctail is large and less expensive compared to Phil's in Moss Landing. This is a hidden gem!
Sea Harbor fish market and restaurant is a quaint little fish market and restaurant located in Salinas area. I ordered a crab sandwich and a combo plate: the seafood plate included fish, crab cakes, and shrimp with rice instead of fries or coleslaw. My daughter ordered a few different things. I consider their food very expensive for what we got. First, the fish pieces were very small and very average as far as fish fillets go. I would Not order them again. Second, the prawns were large and heavily breaded; too much breading for me--I'd say, average for any restaurant. Third, the crab cakes: they were the best thing on my plate. They were tasty and moist. My crab sandwich (eaten the next day), was awesome. I loved it. I didn't care for the French fries, at all--but, I'm not really a French fry person. I tasted some of my daughter's clam strips, and they were excellent. If I could reorder and do it again, I would have gotten rid of the fish and have the clam strips. For a fish shop, they should have been able to do fish-and-chips par excellence, but fell far short of being able to do that. While the crab sandwich crab cakes and clam strips were excellent, a seafood shop should be able to do excellent fish and prawns. The fish pieces were so small that I think long John silver's fish is far superior to the sea Harbor fish market fish. Unless I want to have crab or clam strips I'm not sure I'll come back here frequently. While handicap parking exists outside, it's difficult to find a close parking place, even with a large parking lot. I was only able to get within about 500' of the door. Moreover the sign is not that easy to see, it's a smallish sign creamy colored with Brown lettering and green; The size of the sign is about a foot and a 1/2 tall and is located beneath the eaves of the roof. Even more difficult to spot is the number on the door. It's actually painted on the glass and behind the sign making it difficult, if not impossible to spot. Handicap access in the restaurant is fairly accessible and easy to get into. In fact, there was a handicapped person in the restaurant using a motorized scooter as I was ordering.
Awesome food! Better seafood than anything on fishermans wharf. I eat here everytime im in salinas. Next week i'll be in town and definitely plan on having a great meal here.
