Restaurant bewertenLovely ambiance and very attentive service. Food and drink of an extremely high standard and a very reasonable price. A very impressive experience that we will share again.
We spotted this restaurant and it's glowing reviews on TripAdvisor. Sadly, our experience fell short of expectations. We booked for two of us 19.30 on a Tuesday evening. We were surprised to be the only diners that night. We were warmly welcomed and the Restaurant looked very smart. We chose the four course menu for 32.90 euros. First a slice of mediocre pate, served very cold from the fridge. Previous reviewers had raved about the melt-in-the-mouth rump steak. The steak was served small (maybe 100g) cut like a piece of filet. Alas filet it was not. A very cheap piece of meat, probably requiring a couple of ours in the pot, part of which my wife failed to chew and had to leave it part chewed on the plate. Roast potatoes served in their own little dish from the oven. Just oily. Cheese course was okay but I guess not much preparation required for two small pieces of cheese and some dressed lettuce. Dessert was poached pear. Again applauded by previous reviewers. Mine was roughly the size of a golf ball and too hard to be cut with a dessert spoon. Two huge mountains of squirty cream though! Luckily there was a knife and fork to hand. Why not send it back? Two out of four courses to be returned to a possibly disgruntled chef? Er ... no thanks. Oh. The coffee was good. So it's a two bubbles rating. One for the service. One for the décor. That's it.
Delightful staff, unobtrusive but attentive. The food was exceptional, we were given an amuse-bouche when we arrived which was delicious and set the scene. At the end of our meal, we were given another tiny dessert, similar to a rum baba, which finished the meal off beautifully. In UK I would have paid probably double for food of this quality.
This restaurant is always on our menu each time we visit France. Attention to detail and style while presenting great food.
My wife and I were looking for somewhere new to eat at lunchtime. After checking Tripadvisor we came across this restaurant somewhat off the beaten track yet in the centre of the village. The quality of the food was superb and freshly prepared. Wine by the glass was listed on the table with a good range. There was a pleasant ambience that meant our meal was unhurried. The service was friendly yet attentive without being in your face. We cannot wait to return with our friends and relatives.
