Restaurant bewertenWe go often to this excellent indian restaurant. It is in gorgeous surroundings, rose gardens and the seafront!! Having lived in India, we are delighted to find an authentic Indian restaurant here in St Laurent du Var.
I've been here many times, maybe 9 in the last 2 years and also been a fanthis visit left me devastated.Quiet Monday evening and 8 of us turned up for food and drinks. The owner was strutting around like a bear with a sore head scowling at everybody. We ordered a round of drinks, beers, bottles of wines and coke. We ordered our starters, selection of bhajis, sheesh kebab etc,Mains were a mix of korma, tikka masala, balti and vindaloo. We all ordered different naan breads and different rices. So the first problem. 4 poppadom came between 8 people!Next problem the naan breads arrived before we even had a drink in our hands. They sat there getting cold whilst we ate our starters. The starters were average. Overlooked and plain flavours. The mains arrived. The server just threw them down, we had no idea which dish was which. Our variety of rice, turned up on 3 platters and was all the same. When we asked where the pilau, saffron and other rices were we were snapped and told this was all they had left. My husband wanted another beer and asked 3 times for one before it was slapped in front of him.Awful service, terrible food. We paid €70 a couple and left feeling hungry and angry.Won't be back
We stumbled across this restaurant while driving along the coast. Great staff, fantastic food at good prices. We would have loved to visit again if we had had time. We had the beef pashawari and another spicy beef dish (I've forgot the name!) with peshwari naans and rice. It came really quickly and was fantastic. We had ice cream for dessert which was also great! I would not hesitate to recommend this place. Fantastic.
Achiana is a wonderful restaurant with great food and friendly service. You always have great food. Sadly it is shutting this week oct 16, 2016 as the local council has forced all businesses in the port of st Laurent to close. The good news is that they will be reopening again soon in nearby Grasse. I would recommend that you check out the new location when it opens. I certainly will be.
We ordered Butter Chicken, Lamb Madras, Keema Nan, Basmati rice with cumin, Raita, Dal Tarka, Sheesh Kabab, Eggplant and had drinks while we waiting, seated in the welcoming indoor dining area. The dining area was full of orchids and beautiful statues and carvings. There is a terrasse on the side of the restaurant filled with plants and both have a beautiful view of the port of Saint Laurent. When we got home, we had a feast! It was delicious, full of amazing flavours, textures and absolutely worth our drive there! We will definitely go back to eat there!
