Hôtel Campanile Saint Malo Saint Jean Des Guerets

We ate here in a hurry and the food was ok .The buffet was very good for a young child.The service was not brilliant but it did a job !!

We were asked when we booked into the Campanile whether we would like breakfast the next morning. Normally when travelling we prefer to set off without breakfast and stop en route, but we said we would without knowing the cost. There was a reasonable choice for breakfast Continental buffet, of course, and coffee was plentiful. We were, however, a little shocked when we got our bill, finding that the breakfast was just over 9 euros each. Really far too expensive for what we had eaten. We also ate in the previous evening and both chose pizzas, which were frozen pizza bases. I think, quite frankly, that we chose the wrong thing and would have been better with another choice from the menu. On a more positive note, I have to say that the array of desserts looked incredibly good, with tremendous choice. So, all in all, felt that the cost of the meals was just too much in relation to the amount we had paid for the accommodation.

We were looking for a lunch stop and noticed the signage from the main road. The restaurant was almost empty and we didn't have high hopes but once inside and seated we were very pleasantly surprised at being served some very nice food. Canard breast grilled to perfection and little ray wings in a lovely sauce. A good selection of buffet starters and desserts together with a good choice of beers and wines. So good we returned again for lunch the next day.

If you are staying out of St Malo this little restaurant provides a good offer of reasonably freshly prepared food in a quick and efficient way. Unfortunately our waitress seemed to have had a bad day and off hand is being kind. Her colleague on the other hand was charming!

Visited on a one night stop on the way to the ferry. A clean, modern eatery with good food and attentive, but not intrusive, staff. I had a buffet starter followed by steak cooked bleu . It was perfect. I would recommend this place to anyone.
