However, I wanted to provide an updated review for 2023 after my recent visit, which left me quite disappointed. The flavors of the sushi I ordered seemed to have changed significantly. I ordered four rolls, but one of them took the entire time we were there to arrive, and I’m not sure why. I noticed that the amount of sauce on the rolls has increased, leading to an imbalance in flavors. Each roll had overpowering ingredients that detracted from the overall experience. It could be a hit or miss, and perhaps my visit was just an off day. Sushi Q has generally been consistent with their rolls and flavors, and I miss the simplicity they used to offer. Previously, the flavors were well-balanced and every roll felt crafted with care. I chose to dine here instead of trying another sushi place, and I regret what I ended up with. On a positive note, the customer service was good; our server checked in on us frequently, though we did have to ask for water and inquire about the delayed roll. I’m hesitant about returning, as I’m questioning the quality now and don’t want to risk spending my money on something that I might not enjoy.

Some of my favorite dishes include the Tuna Blossom appetizer, the Chirashi plate, the Uncle J roll, and the Salmon Skin Hand Roll. My kids absolutely love the Teriyaki Chicken—even I find it delicious, and I'm usually not a fan of the sweetness in teriyaki. My husband enjoys the Baby Calamari, which is always perfectly fried with a nice kick of spice. The restaurant is quite small, so be prepared for a wait if you visit during busy times. However, they also do a fantastic takeout business. We've ordered food to go before, and it always tastes great when we make it back home to Galt. Overall, this is my favorite sushi spot in Sacramento, and we will definitely keep coming back!

SUSHI Q was fantastic! The establishment was immaculate, and you could really see the effort put into food preparation. Watching our meal being made was a delight. The customer service was outstanding too! We also appreciated the simple menu options. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family!
