Restaurant bewertenThis is a bare-bones little shop, but the chilaquiles were delicious. Order at counter, grab some salsa and chips, wait for them to call your order ready. Dirty dishes stacked in a corner and no metal forks. Not a very pleasant atmosphere; it is tolerable for a quick bite.
I have to say, THE FOOD is great here. I was skeptical at first with a random taco shop that someone said to go to. The BIRRIA and consomme was delicious! One of best so far I had. Plus the best meatball soup ever! Hearty stew. It had the perfect combination of added flavors to it. Better than other places. Definitely one of my favorite places now in Clairemont Mesa Blvd East.
The chicken tacos here are superb. I also recommend their nachos, torrilla chips, rolled tacos, beans, and any of their shrimp/fish dishes. The atmosphere is typical Mexican hole-in-the-wall vibes so please don't expect a Mexican fiesta. The place is clean, the staff are respectful. They just pulled all the prices on their menu, I think they are updating.
You know you're at a good Mexican spot when you're surrounded by Spanish speakers. This place is pretty authentic, and we thoroughly enjoyed our food. The friendly woman who took our order teased me about not liking guacamole (I wish I liked it! , saying I'm wrong. It was a very funny friendly exchange. I definitely recommend this place.
I was on my way to work...i work on a food truck ...the only reason i stopped by because it was a clean up day at work. I ordered a carne asada burrito . i was waiting when i heard the cook complaining who orders a carne asada burrito this early.. Well when i received my order. The cashier announced one uh burrito....when i got to work ...i started to eat it... It was mostly filled with chicken.. Little tiny scrapes of meat in it .. Cmon it was raining so i did not go back.. Next say you dont have any carne asada. I would have ordered something....wont be going back ...rather go to the taco shop across the street
