The bacon was soggy and didn’t even taste like bacon, the sausage was greasy and bland, and the pastries were dry and cold. They even managed to mess up simple orders.
The breakfast at the hotel was just okay. The food was lukewarm, and the salt and pepper packets were always damp whenever we visited. We received a complimentary breakfast due to some issues with our room, but the food didn't taste great. We also had to constantly ask for drinks. While it wasn’t terrible, I would recommend looking elsewhere for better service and food.
If you’re not getting a complimentary meal, it’s not worth your time. The service is unfriendly, and the food is far worse than you’d expect from a typical continental breakfast. I ended up canceling my dinner reservations purely based on my breakfast experience.
Soleil K is an excellent choice not only for guests at the Marriott Gaslamp Quarter, but also for anyone visiting the area. The service is commendable, and while it can get bustling during peak times, there are quieter moments that offer a charming atmosphere. I enjoyed both breakfast and dinner there, and both meals were delightful. The breakfast burrito was outstanding—definitely one of the best I've had, perfectly embodying the flavors of Southern California and San Diego. For dinner, I tried the Jidori Chicken, which was equally impressive. The service during my first two visits was exceptional, with only a slight dip in quality during my third visit. Overall, it's a wonderful hotel with a restaurant that lives up to its reputation.
We stopped by for breakfast before checking out. The service and food were consistent with what we anticipated from a typical buffet.
