Restaurant bewertenHe had a 5-course menu with half glass wine pairings. the white wines for the fish courses were simply perfect! also the red wines for the meat were well paired. the absolute stunner was the dessert wine I thought was too sweet, but proved to be mild and very refreshing at a warm evening. Although I was a picky meal on surprise menus, I enjoyed every cure that the cook had prepared. they were very experimental, but trusted in what I love to eat. only a dish had a slowly cooked egg yolk, which I could not enjoy so much, but this is more of a preference of egg yolk than the execution of the plate. would definitely recommend this place for a beautiful meal and especially special occasions to celebrate because the ambiente and the service simply increase the experience all together!
We love this place. slightly expensive but the service and eating always impeccable! they love all the dishes they create. eating is innovatiw and the Veggie options are not a afterthought. they are really in the thoughts! I would recommend this place 100. not so sure why they have no michelin bib or a kind of recognition!
Had a great dinner here. Literally had no reference to the menu before it was from the fact that it was a set meal. The service was very friendly and...
I came here to have dinner with a lot of hype and, to be honest, I fell a bit disappointed. Before describing the courses, two general remarks: 1. In a restaurant called 'De Matrooss', I would expect some fish in the menu, and the only fish I ate were two mini prawns in one of the dishes. And 2. If I order a 4 courses menu, I would not expect two cold starters in it. I would have prefered more substance like a main course of meat and a main course of fish, but not two starters. First course was a chucrut deconstruction. It was my favourite but nothing really spectacular. Second course was like a kind of Spanish gazpacho deconstruction, with different kind of tomatoes, cucumber and a goat cheese that did not mix at all. Main course was meat. They told us that it was sirloin but it was not sirloin at all. The meat was chewy and really difficult to eat. I really like rare meat, but this was imposible to bite. The dessert was cocoa with a cherry whiskied icecream. For me, that I do not like whisky, it tasted too much to it. It was not a bad dessert but, again, nothing really spectacular. Service was aphatic and reluctant, like if they were just looking forward to go home. Price was 165€ for three people. Overprized. I do not put 1 star because there were a few good things and drinks were good, but what a disappointment...
It was a cozy restaurant and we had 5 courses with wine. The service is very nice and the dishes are also very delicious. If there is any downside, the portion of the food is very small and the space between the tables is very little.
