The Original Mels Diner - Rocklin

We usually have no problems with Mel's, but today we have all kinds of problems. The meat in my patty melt was boiled as raw and cold. The same for my daughter's Cheeseburger. The chesseburger had what looked like a whole salad wedge on it. While the fries of my granddaughter were overseasonal, our very low seasonally and hardly warm. The restaurant was not crowded, so it's not like the kitchen was behind it. The staff was great. Quickly missed, drinks delivered relatively quickly, and orders within minutes of sitting. Very disappointed.

The food was good. The service was very good. All the workers seemed to be working hard and working fast. There is a jukebox and every table and you can pay to have your favorite songs played throughout the restaurant. But the music was a little too quiet. Also kids food comes in a cardboard old time car.

This is a change to my original review The last 4 times my family and I have came here, we got sick. My daughter wanted to go to Mel's for her birthday because of the car her food comes in. I ordered a blta sandwich and salad. The bacon on my sandwich was raw. Same with the bacon on my family's burger. The fries were cold and hard. Its sad because we really loved this diner. Definitely will not be coming back. Original post....Great food! Fast and friendly service.

Great Food, Great People! Nostalgic fun with consistently good food.

If you enjoy 50s diner vibes then this is the place for you. The breakfast dishes are very good and always come out quickly. The salads have always had good lettuce and I've never been disappointed. The dishes are fairly large portions, and the kids food is properly sized.
