Restaurant bewertenThis restaurant has a great spot at the Port of Rochester with views of the port and the marina. The dining room is spacious and can be opened to the outdoors. The service is indifferent and ther food is acceptable. The clam strips were fairly good as was my fried fish sandwich, but nothing to write home about. Beer selection was decent otherwise. Good shot mainly due to location with just average food.
Great view and friendly wait staff. I ordered a Reuben which was missing the Russian dressing and sauerkraut (what's a Reuben without these? The waitress replaced the sandwich but the replacement was soggy on the side without the sauerkraut which was odd. The waitress said they make the best Reuben she's ever had but I have had better.
Went lunchtime on a Monday. Took 20 minutes before anyone talked to us after being seated. They seemed more interested in chatting with each other than taking orders. After all that time, we tried to order clams, but were told they didn't have any, so we had to spend even more time deciding what to order instead. Then 15 minutes later the waitress comes back and tells us they are sold out of the crab cakes. Pelican's Nest without crab or clams. I understand that there are supply issues, but they couldn't tell us before we were seated? The staff was apologetic, but seemed disorganized, like there was no one managing them. They probably only work for tips and only put the effort in when someone looks like they're going to get drinks. The food came and was only okay. Expected better for the prices. The view, however is perfect. I think you might get better service in the evenings or weekends.
The pelican’s nest waterfront restaurant is always a great place to dine and enjoy the afternoons when the summer sun is in rustester. the riverside directly south of the harbour of rochester offers a view of the sea, the river and the rochester yacht club. Drinks, eat and entertainment will not disappoint. add it to the long list of many things in rochesters charlotte beach area. Don't forget it is not charlotte, it is charlotte. that is not the carolina. they know that it comes near the summer time in the roc city when the pelican’s nest is open.
Pelicans nest is a classic raw summer place to be. I can bring my daughter to lunch on a bright sunny day or drink at night and come to dance with my man. eating is predictable, but delicious. the outside seats are a big plus for me, there are sun umbrellas on the tables. the menu feels for the location, the classic wings and burgers, but also some fish dishes. this is not a vegetarian friendly restaurant. the drinks are well made. at my last visit my daughter got a burger and I got a crabcake sandwich, the crabcake sandwich had a chipotle mayo that brought it for me to a crab that pommes were seasoned and crispy. the classic Clam Appetizer brings me back to my childhood. the server was really nice. we have and are often visited.
