Restaurant bewertenThis place has terrible Chinese food The takeout portions are small and food is bland. I get the impression that since its only take out people will accept whats given them once everything is wrapped up for take out and the owner of the restaurant take advantage of that. You usually get better food when the food is present right to your table your sitting at. The previous owners of the restaurant had better food in general. This is more about taking people's money fast and do it with a smile.
We order from Bamboo because you know what you will get. It isn't the best but it is tasty and good value ordering their combo meals. The chicken balls need to have more chicken and less batter though.
I have had food from here about 5 times. Only because it's one of the few Chinese restaurants in the area that delivers. I have also picked up and taken out. Not once was I impressed. I swear the deep fried prawns have been cut in half lengthwise as you get almost all batter. The egg rolls are terrible. Shame because it would be nice to have a good place in the neighbourhood!
I ordered take out with this restaurant a couple of times, wasn't never really overwhelmed but the last time just recently will be the last time for me. Ordered the 3 person meal and got chicken chow mien that had no chicken in it. Over cooked chicken balls which were kind of tasteless and had way too much breading.. The honey garlic pork had huge bones and little meat So be forewarned.
Through the present pandemic, my wife and I are trying out all the different take out options from a variety of restaurants. We found the service we received from Bamboo Express to be quick and efficient. The food we ordered was as expected. But like so many Chinese restaurants in the Lower Mainland, the food was unimaginative when it comes to taste. How can one write an excellent review when the food tastes the same? But then that may not be the reason to order in Chinese. Personally, I just want to be excited and amazed. Is that asking too much?
