Restaurant bewertenThis restaurant is truly exceptional and a hidden gem. I am hesitant to share this amazing find with more people, but the outstanding service from the staff, including Rosie, Justina, and Megan, deserves to be recognized. The restaurant offers well-presented dishes at reasonable prices with culinary skills that exceed expectations. The breakfast was amazing and I cannot praise the owners and staff enough for their hospitality. Overall, a truly flawless dining experience.
I made a reservation at this hotel through Buy a Gift. This was my first time booking in this way, so I was a bit apprehensive about what to expect. However, as I drove up the driveway and crossed the little bridge, I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the hotel looked. Upon check-in, we were given a key to our room and asked about our dining preferences. The room was easy to find and very nice, equipped with everything we needed. Our dinner and breakfasts were top-notch, and the bar had a great selection with Guinness that rivaled any other I've had. Overall, it was a fantastic stay at this charming family-run hotel.
Went on the 22nd of September for my Grandson Rio’s 1st Birthday and to also celebrate mine and my daughters same day birthday which was on the 19th of September, wonderful evening, Anna who took are order and served us are meals, could not have been more accommodating and made are celebrations extra special, she went above and beyond, the food was excellent, and I cannot wait to go back, we realised after leaving we did not leave a tip, and have all decided to chip in and send a postal order. Would highly recommend. Thank you again Anna. I actually gave her a hug for her kindness and service.
Our room was beautifully decorated with period pieces of furniture and decor, complete with a relaxing spa bath and impeccable cleanliness. The breakfast the next morning was satisfying, boasting delicious sausage and bacon. The enchanting gardens featured a wedding chapel, statues, and fountains, giving the property an air of "Olde England" charm. Formerly the Earl of Derny's hunting lodge, the hotel offers good prices and is clearly a popular choice for visitors seeking a peaceful retreat in the countryside.
Typical Country House Hotel It is exactly what you expect it to be. Large, a little beyond its prime. Our room was jammed full of very old furniture so very little room for luggage. The bed, also old creaky. Terrible mattress that made you roll to the centre of the bed very very lumpy pillows. TV so small it was virtually impossible to watch. Limited selection of teas coffees. As there was no milk of any sort, we would have settled for herbal tea but there wasn’t any. Could hear the people in the next room talking. Dinner service was very good. Hot hearty. Breakfast was ok although I thought my sausage a little raw so didn’t eat it. Service good. Shower. Just a dribble from the shower head the water didn’t drain properly so ended up standing in cold water. We stayed here for one night as a stopover on our trip north so it served its purpose but not somewhere I would seek out to stay again. The gardens did look lovely even in the rain so maybe as a wedding venue it works better. My tip would be to invest in new beds or at very least new pillows declutter the room. It was a very reasonable price for B B but the reality is at odds with the blurp on their website.
