Restaurant bewertenAn excellent Sunday lunch. Ample portions of perfectly cooked meat and fresh veg. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I was quite impressed. Thank you Brynffynon.
Great food, good service, great portions, great location and to top it all a great pint of Butty Bach.
Had heard nothing but good things about this place from many colleagues so as were hiking in the area today we thought we'd give it a go. The local scenery en route is stunning the place is easy to find and has a large car park. The restaurant and bar are clean and cosy and there are several tables in a beer garden. Bar waiting staff are lovely. The waitress in particular was really friendly and happy, such a contrast compared to many of the places we've been to recently. We visited as a couple and both had 12 Oz Gammon with fried egg, grilled pineapple, chips and peas (one with a salad), with a side of onion rings between us. The portion sizes are generous and reasonably priced. The gammon was juicy and tender, perfectly cooked. The hand-cut chips were perfect and the other accompaniments were also excellent.Overall, the food is out of this world. It's been many years since we've had good this good when eating out. We don't often eat dessert when eating out but there was a table of six seated nearby who must have been there a little before us and they ordered an assortment of desserts while we were still eating our mains. Their praise was so vocal we thought we couldn't leave without dessert as they were making our mouths water. From the generous range of desserts we both decided to have the Salted caramel blondie cheesecake, with ice cream. There were no regrets! Pleased to say the desserts are every bit as excellent as the mains. £13.50 for each main and £4.95 for each dessert, plus two rounds of soft drinks, the bill came to just under £50, not including a tip (which we felt was well deserved due to the excellent service). We feel this is a more than reasonable price for the quality of the food and have already decided we will be returning soon. The menu was varied and appears to have something for all tastes and there are several children's meals available. There seems to be a steak night, chicken night, curry night and burger night, which we will obviously have to check out! We finished our visit in the beer garden, finishing off our drinks, with the company of a very friendly cat (we assume the cat is owned by the hotel as there don't appear to be any nearby houses). 10 10 would visit again.
We returned to this ideally located forest pub and restaurant after too long an absence. Last time was in winter where we tucked in to free bar top roast potatoes with our drinks next to a blazing fire. This time in summer it’s a walkers paradise if your are into miles and miles of Forestery Commission trees , hills and rocky outcrops plus alongside the Pub a superb historic 7 th century Church St.Gwynno.
Stunning food here, great quality and value for money Staff very attentive We will be back Lovely church worth visiting, key is left at the bar
