Restaurant bewertenThis restaurant is the perfect spot for lunch. I ordered the bacon, avocado, and lettuce baguette and it was absolutely delicious and very fresh. The service was excellent. Fresco is a fantastic discovery and I will definitely be coming back. The prices are very reasonable as well.
My wife and I had the chicken curry and rice at this restaurant. The food was fantastic. We both also enjoyed tea. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only issue we encountered was that the mugs were either chipped or cracked. It would be great if they could replace them with new ones. Overall, we would definitely recommend this place to eat. The prices are reasonable and we plan on eating here again.
I absolutely adore this restaurant. I typically visit for breakfast, but decided to try something different this time and ordered a jacket potato with chicken and sweetcorn mayo. The portion size was very generous and the filling was delicious. The accompanying salad was also very tasty and unique, with a variety of ingredients beyond just tomato and cucumber, as well as a nice touch of herbs around the edge of the plate. It was all very classy and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The latte I ordered was also delightful. The staff clearly prioritize customer satisfaction, as they were friendly and attentive to detail in their service. Additionally, the prices were very reasonable.
I'm vegetarian and miss a fry up occasionally, so I thought I'd try cafe fresco as I'd heard it was good. Now, if I was a meat eater I'd be laughing all the way to the bank, vegetarians not so much. The item I wanted was avocado on toast with egg, no avocado, so I opted for the other vegetarian option, which was the veggie breakfast. Now 4 types of potatoes, 2 manky veggtable sausage a spoonfull of mushrooms (I'd say 2 small mushrooms chopped up) cpl eggs, fried bread, beans and/or tomatoes for the same price as the large meaty breakfast is not value for money. It was cooked well and was super hot and fresh, but so hmmmm and a bit disappointing. The coffee was nice, proper coffee, could have been a bit stronger, I did ask but the lady behind the counter was new, so am giving her a break about it.
Partner and I had forgotten our bank cards so unable to draw out cash. We came to cafe fresco and asked if they took card payments. Was told cash only, we replied we only had our phone so the server said he would take a card payment this once. We ordered. Came to pay and after getting up the list of available wifi networks, I asked which wifi was theirs as my reception was terrible and he shrugged. Then produced a piece of paper with the network and password. I joined, opened my banking app to make the transfer and handed my phone over for him to input his details. He then told me “no” very abruptly. I was confused. He then, again abruptly told me “how I pay in shops” and told me to put my phone onto his. I then realised he was using his phone as a terminal. While the transfer was going through the way he proceeded to talk to me, as if I was stupid and a child, caused the cafe to go silent and customers staring. He then dismissively told me the transfer had gone through and to take a seat. One, of taking a card payment had been so much of a hassle we would’ve gone elsewhere two, I have an honours degree and 3, I’m 38 years old. The food was decent, no complaints there but, the whole experience was marred by the servers bad attitude. We couldn’t wait to finish and leave. There was no thank you for our custom, even when our drinks were brought over, there was silence. We will not be returning here again. Maybe he was having an off day but, if paying by card was such a chore then we would have happily left and eaten somewhere else.
