Thai Gumdale - REDLAND BAY

As a family we enjoy all sorts of cuisine: Indian, Chinese including yum Cha, Greek, Lebanese, Malaysian, Turkish, Mediterranean of all origins, Italian and Polish just to mention a few.At the Thai Gumdale the menu choices are excellent and provide all the traditional Thai dishes as well as some great Chefs Specials. This night we had two adults, two of our own boys (17 & 15) and a friend of the boys 15, so five adult eaters. We ordered two large steamed rice, four dishes, Mussaman Beef, soft-shelled crab, Prawn Laksa and a Garlic & Pepper stir fried Lamb. All of which were excellent in taste and size. Cost is not the cheapest but it's also not the most expensive. Taking into account the quality and size of the meals the value is really good.It's not just the quality & value of Thai Gumdale I want to comment but to talk about the excellent quality of their customer service. The soft-shelled crab comes in a variety of flavour choices. We ordered the basil & chili flavoured Crab.We had ordered this exact dish previously and thought it looked different but weren't 100% sure so we didn't say anything. It was delicious anyway. The waitress who had taken our order must have noticed that the kitchen had prepared the wrong flavor dish and even though the boys had demolished half of the plate before they said anything, they came to our table 'fessed up' about the mistake without prompting and then also without asking delivered a fresh soft-shelled Crab in Basil & Chilli to our table. And they only charged us for one of the dishes! Excellent customer service! Because of Thai Gumdale's generosity off & on the plate, we took home the extra in some takeaway containers which they also offer for any substantial left-overs.This Restaurent is great but it's not big in size, so I suggest you book to avoid disappointment. I cannot recommend the Thai GUMDALE highly enough!

The food here is beautiful and good value for money. Always enjoy it. However if you're ordering to take away, always double the time they tell you. We are often told 15 minutes and have waited from 30-40 minutes most times. May help if the people taking the orders could understand English a little more.

It has been a gem of a restaurant in regards to flavoursome and consistent Thai food. Roast duck is a hit. Very decent dine in too. Service is always courteous and polite. At times take always could take longer than initially stated but that's because they do get quite busy unexpectedly at times in some odd days.

This Thai restaurant has been very consistent in recent times with providing excellent Thai food. The meal sizes are big and the service has been good. It is always busy, which is a great sign. Always busy with takeaway meals.

Food fresh excellent quality. I'll definitely going back. Gumdales best kept secret. Shhhhhhh don't tell everyone.
