My parents decided we try this restaurant near our place. It's been here for a while now and we haven't even tried it yet. It's a chinese restaurant that caters to casual dining and fine dining. We wanted to try the shabu-shabu originally but decided to just order ala-carte. We did have the beef brisket with radish. The beef was just right. It was tender and the taste was good. Not too salty and not too bland. The tofu was a surprise for me. It almost reminded me of the chawanmushi at teriyakiboy and i happen to like that very much. The beancurd was a little too oily for me. Plus the xiao long pao was oily too. Honestly, the food was good aside from it being oily. Staff: all attentive Cleanliness: well maintained
Oriental Palace formally opened in March 2015 and is owned by a family of restauranteur. The restaurant offers a wide selection of Chinese dishes and the ones I've tasted are truly delicious. There are dim sum in many variants – Hakaw, Siao Long Pao, Pork with Shrimp Siomai, Spare Ribs with Taosi, Chicken Feet, Beef Balls and Steamed Bean Curd Roll. For the main dishes got to taste their Prawn Tempura, Suahe Fried Rice, Oysters with XO Sauce, Lapu-Lapu with Mango Sauce, Roasted Suckling Pig with California Maki and Roasted Peking Duck with Seaweeds. Each dish has a character on their own and equally delicious. The freshness of the prawns was very evident in the Tempura dish. The fried rice is like the Chinese version of a Paella. The Mango sauce complemented the fried Lapu-Lapu and is a good departure from the usual Sweet and Sour variant that I get to eat in other Chinese restaurants. I love the slight crunch in the Oysters. The suckling pig and duck dishes are divine with the crispy skin and tender meat. Good food enjoyed in a great ambiance. Oriental Palace is big, ideal for family celebrations. The restaurant is also designed to accommodate various functions and events happening all at the same time.
Oriental Palace offer a wide variety of tasty, filling flavors and textures from vegetables to all kinds of meats. There is always something for everyone in the family to indulge in. Oriental Palace offers fresh and delicious Chinese food based on their perfect understanding of balance through the years of their expertise. Oriental Palace takes great care in serving well balanced flavors and textures for discerning tastes of their customers. The family patriarch, Chua Kun (Henry Chua), handpicks the freshest catch of the day at the market (prawns, Lapu Lapu, lobsters, eels) and oversees its preparation in the kitchen as head chef. A HongKong chef himself, he guides the other two HongKong chefs in the preparation of the dishes to ensure its authentic taste and quality of food being served. Do try out the Xiao Long Bao, Hakaw, Peking Duck, Suckling Pig plus Shrimp Tempura and you'll never go wrong. Roasted Duck with Seaweed is priced at P 500 1/4, P 1000 1/2, and P 2,000 for a whole duck. Dine in at Orient Palace sometime. You'll love their food.
My friends and I went out to lunch one weekend at Oriental Palace. We ordered a mix of Japanese and Chinese dishes: I got Bacon Roll, Xiao Long Bao and Hakao while my friends got ramen: Spicy Prawn Ramen and Oriental Prawn Ramen. We also tried their shakes: green mango for my friends while watermelon shake for me. The service was very impressive. Our server even offered to help us in getting our helpings for the ramen. We were even given a complimentary fruit platter. The prices were very reasonable and the service was the most impressive I have seen in a Chinese restaurant. The food was beyond ordinary. A must-visit in the Tomas Morato area.
