Restaurant bewertenAfter walking by Roberto's, and being invited in, I went into the nice air conditioning and decided to try their food. I was expecting bland, expensive tourist food but was pleasantly surprised that this was the real deal! I tried the traditional Mexican combo. It was delicious! And large portions! I didn't need more food when I left this time.(unlike last night at another restaurant) Very friendly and attentive service. Roberto's deserves a 10!
We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle and this was perfect! We started with a pina Colada and strawberry Margarita both delicious and not made with that overly sweet syrup other places use... real fruit! They brought a tray of the meat and seafood out to show us before we ordered. We had the red snapper and Chile rellano and loved both. We were too full for dessert but they brought us each a complimentary after dinner drink which was a nice touch. They were so attentive and genuinely preciated that we chose to dine with them. Truly a memorable evening and meal.
What a fantastic find. We were looking for another restaurant that happened to be closed on Sundays. Roberto, came up to us, mentioned that the other restaurant was wonderful, but why not try his? The service was wonderful the food amazing, and very reasonably priced.
We tried Roberto 's this evening went in a little early (about 4:45pm, so there were no other customers at the time . We usually like to go into crowded places, or places w/ a decent pool of customers, as it always seems like something 's wrong if there aren 't people there. But, Roberto 's seemed nice, so we figured we 'd give them a try. As far as the place itself goes, it 's a nice atmosphere clean, nice artwork, etc. And as far as the service goes, they 're all super friendly and excellent. The food? ... It was okay. I won 't say anything negative about it, but I also won 't totally praise it. We tried a few items all vegetarian, so keep that in mind, as this seems to be more of a steak and seafood place. We had the mango gazpacho, which was decent. They serve it as a blended soup base, and then you add in the other items (cukes, tomatoes, etc. . Pretty tasty, actually. We also had an alfredo pasta dish and a Mexican veg sampler dish. The pasta ... pretty basic. That 's not to say bad, but I wouldn 't recommend this place as a pasta destination, at least not vegetariano. I found it could have used more Parmesan, and perhaps a different pasta noodle. The Mexican sampler had a few interesting tid bits in it. There was a veggie ball w/ a filo dough wrapper that was pretty unique and tasty. A fried stuffed pepper was also pretty tasty. The other items (enchilada, rice, beans ... also pretty basic. Ergo, if you 're a vegetarian, I 'd say you 're looking at a 3 meal not bad, but perhaps they have some opportunities to expand their skills in this area a bit. The service, though, was top notch. The guy (Enrique even gave us each an after dinner cocktail (Kahluah, Baileys, vodka as a free dessert. So, that was nice. :
I love Roberto's. It has become my first and, at least, last meal on every trip. I panicked when I arrived in early September and they were closed. But after a great remodel they are back. Amazing, friendly, and welcoming service from Mario. Food and margaritas as perfect as always! The snapper is always fresh and delicious! Restaurant week starts September 15. Go! Go! Go! Roberto's is a PV treasure.
