Tong's Thai Restaurant - Pottsville

We ordered Pad Thai and a Thai Beef Stir Fry dish. The wait time given was 20 minutes but took 40...20 minutes standing in the shop waiting. The food was good though, not amazing by any means but fresh and worth the price, maybe not the wait though.

This is a fairly small place with inside diningNot the cosiest setting in an older corner building, but decorated well enough.

So here is the thing it's a Friday night and we are staying at nearby Hastings Point on a family holiday. We all agree it's time for a sit down Thai meal. a quick google search reveal Tongs Thai at Pottsville so that's where we head. Whilst the food was great (and I will come to that shortly) the decor of the place could be improved dramatically. Old Tables that rock because they aren't balanced and old plastic chairs could easily be replaced by some funky cane furniture, a couple of long lounges with colourful cushions and give this place a real boost aesthetically. Anyway on to the food. We ordered an entree of Spring Rolls and Money Bags. Both were cooked impecalbly and were of great proportion and the taste of both was absolutely outstanding. We followed this with a main course of King Prawns and stir fried vegetables and a Penang Chicken Curry. The prawn dish was brilliant with at least 12 to 14 huge king prwans and the vegetables were cruncy and fresh in a light sauce. The Penang curry was huge and delicious, so much so that the staff were kind enough to give us a takeaway dish for another day. An absolutely outstanding meal. The staff were helpful without being intrusive.All in All a great dinner and we will definitely be back hopefully with some new decor.

Most authentic Thai I have ever had place is very rudimentary but food is fantastic and very well priced have been there 4 time now and not disappointed good staff, I have always left a couple of bucks for the staff. Sensational food !!!
