Renata - Portland

I had heard some restaurants have a different level of service or approach to customers that seemed to be the case from the dining room menu. the service staff was very stiff and involuntary. we were not asked if we were satisfied with our eating, or if we needed something. Salt and pfeffer seemed to be upset. I ordered an espresso, which the waiter left before me and then stormed, no sugar or stuff. also the demand for sugar seemed to be an affront.

Great culinary experience! what a large building renata is located in. very comfortable table that wanted us to stay all night. great service and eating was tasty tasty nom nom nom! our new favorite place to go in portland. thanks for an excellent experience!

Nice atmosphere but overall experience and quality of cooking did not match up with the cost

Waited 30 minutes for a reserved table. Gave us a free cheese plate that wasn’t that good and not enough for the table to make up for it. Ran out of the dish I wanted and ended up with this weird fish ravioli thing that mediocre. Not sure what all the hype is about.

Food, as always was delightful. Nothing was a revelation this time around, but the food is always expertly prepared and delicious. Service is excellent, wine was well matched to the food and the cocktails were lovely.
