Centre Street Tap House - Portage

I’ve noticed that the restaurant tends to run out of their specials quickly. The special may attract you in, but by the time you order, it’s often unavailable, which forces you to choose something else. I ended up with a very large sandwich that had only a tiny piece of meat in it. I had to cut the meat to make sure there was some in both halves of the sandwich, and it still cost just a couple of dollars less than their prime rib. The service was good, but I felt sympathetic towards the waiting staff.

I've noticed a pattern with their specials running out quickly. You come in for a particular dish, only to find it's no longer available, forcing you to choose something else. I ended up with a huge sandwich that had a very small piece of chicken; I had to cut it up just to share the chicken between both halves of the sandwich. It was only a few dollars cheaper than the prime rib. On the plus side, the service was good, but I felt sorry for the waitstaff dealing with this issue.
