Restaurant bewertenWell all I can say is that I was stationed there in the 80's---haven't been there since 1991----and we still think about how good those sandwiches were.
I was visiting relatives; I do not live in Beaufort. It was suggested we have lunch at Alvin Ord's. The sandwiches were very tasty and quite large but I was extremely taken aback when the cashier asked me if I wanted to add a tip to my credit card payment. Mind you this is a counter order/counter pick up place; these employees are not paid the meager server wage. There is absolutely no service involved here. I found this so tacky and inappropriate that I will not be back.
The cashier who took our order was not very nice. However, the food was delicious! I highly recommend The Salvation. My husband and I split a large and we were stuffed.
The salvation was very good. Got the large and it was definitely bigger than expected. The homemade bread was quality. Little too much condiments in the sandwich, but all in all very good.
So I grew up eating sandwiches from this fabulous restaurant and every time I visit my parents, I make it a point to stop by. This time the customer service was very disappointing. I ordered a small ham salvation and I was charged for a medium. When Iinformed the cashier about her mistake, she argued that I had ordered a medium. The sandwich I received was the size of asmall. Management was nowhere to be found. It?s unfortunate that this behavior and miscalculation tainted my usual pleasantexperience.
