Restaurant bewertenThe food here was fresh, hot and very tasty. A first time try we shared the smelts - they were done perfectly! The chicken piccatta was also delicious and the helpings sizeable. A wonderful Reston that we would consider going back and we are in Toronto!
Stopping by for a bite to eat, I was pleasantly surprised to see such a great menu. The chefs cook right where you can see them, everything is super-fresh and delicious. Portion size is very generous too. The staff could not have been nicer. A dont-miss in Port Dover, for sure!
This restaurant had a lovely ambiance on the inside and also offered a patio section . Once seated at our table the service was great right away . Amanda was very informative on the menu and told us about the daily produce that the establishment was serving which all seem to be locally available . The kitchen is open so you could see what goes on on the grill . The Chicken dish was amazing and the fettutini with grilled chicken was also delicious . For desert the mix berries ice cream was a perfect end to our meal . In all our experience at Lago Trattoria was extremely pleasant and we will go back again .
I ordered the margherita pizza - Lago pretty much broke my eagerly awaiting heart. Instead of the fresh tomato sauce, patches of fresh mozzarella and basil laid on chewy crispy crust I was anticipating, I got what appears to be a watery mozzarella/tomato soup mix messily poured over a flat tasteless crust.a The crust initially had the crunch of a taco shell, but eventually it soaked up the soup mix and turned into a soggy tasteless bread. I almost gagged halfway. It was like eating bread soaked in water. No taste whatsoever except the rare spots where the tomato sauce pooled. I wanted to return it, but I honestly was so hungry and strapped for time (my lunch hour and I had to drive far for it), i couldn't. I just had to suck it up and scarf it down.Save your disappointment and money. Stay away from their pizza if anything.I've been here before for their other dishes and it was sorely lacking as well. I'm never coming back to this restaurant. Very disappointing and overpriced. If only they put as much into the food as the decor....
We chose Lago for a Sunday gathering of friends during our stay in Port Dover. The food looked lovely but lacked flavour. The decor and service were great.
