Taberna Cadeia Velha - Ponte de Lima

We loved sitting outside this restaurant watching the view and the world go by. Friendly and efficient service and an excellent choice of tapas plus full meals. Everything we had was excellent quality,we particularly loved the clams and the flambé bananas!

We found Taberna Cadeia Velha in the afternoon and asked for a tapas selection without meat and a glass of Vinho Verde each. We received a generous range of tapas, all meat free and delicious. Based on that experience we returned in the evening for a proper meal and were not disappointed in any way. We had vegetable meat balls with tagliatelle, side orders of Shitake mushrooms dusted with prawns with a generous plate of padron peppers, and Tuna glazed with honey and soy sauce. Both meals were excellent, as was the friendly service. The Vinho Verde was also perfect and I’d happily return there if I’m ever in Ponte de Lima again. Thoroughly recommended.

Uma boa surpresa num restaurante típico de pratos portugueses. Comemos um curry vermelho, cogumelos com nozes e arroz portugueses. Grande serviço!

We were there for a family dinner and we tried all vegetarian options. Everything was delicious, I personally had the red curry, delicious and plentiful. In addition, the staff is very friendly.

O caril vermelho estava espetacular! O restaurante têm opções vegetarianas, o ambiante é muito bom!
