Saffron Indian - Plymouth

It’s a shame because the service is good. I’m disappointed with the food unfortunately, it wasn’t bad but not good enough compared to other places. Portion size is good but curry lacks flavour and not enough vegetables and variety. Shame.

Food is always lovely always very hot and staff very nice

Ordered for the first time ever using the website. Delivery was quicker than expected and driver was lovely, ordered tandoori mixed grill which tasted amazing and piping hot on delivery, keema rice was so good. Every item was perfect will defo order again after such an amazing first time with saffron UPDATE just had our second takeaway from Saffron, ordered exact same food but this time the meat in the mixed grill was awful, tough, overcooked and not much flavour, so disappointing, the keema naan was decent but not as good as last time. Pilau rice was dry. Poppadoms were good and the mint sauce but that's about it. Delivery was still good and driver friendly but food so poor.

I could never in good conscience recommend this Indian take away shop. I love Indian food and have had a variety. The food we received was bright red (chicken Tikka masala) and bright yellow (chicken korma). Both tasted exactly the same, douced in sugar, no hint of authentic Indian spices we couldn't eat it. Honestly, it tasted like candy with artificial coloring. We wiped off the sauce and ate the chicken with sauce from our kitchen. The egg rice did however have some good flavours. And the poppadums were crunchy and moreish.

Really quick delivery, food hot when it arrived and some of the best curry we've had for a long time! The naans were so thick and kormas really really good, wouldn't highly recommend and will deffo order again.
