Restaurant bewertenUp on a mountain the location is beautiful in the area of Puos D'Alpago. Quant place with own family style identity. The people are very friendly and helpful. We were with a large group and asked for set menu, which overall wasn't what you expect of a Michelin Star. Maybe we were just unlucky, but i found it uninspiring. Amuse and snacks were very nice, especially the cheese with Truffel. Starter of salmon on toast, was ok. Then we had risottto with chestnut, which seemed a bit burned. Main course was the loverliest tender veal, of high quality. Then desert was a disappointment way too sweet.
We could taste the cuisine of Dolada on a different occasion, outside the restaurant in Pieve d’Alpago, in an extraordinary location on the Collio Friulano, where a lunch was organized and served by Dolada. An extraordinary and epic event, the success of which Dolada's cuisine has largely contributed, with an unbeatable service and delicious dishes that astonished every diner : great and young. Impeccable service, ready and discreet in an environment of difficult management as a wedding of over one hundred diners, but who has entered into perfection, with elegance in dresses and discretion in ways. What we have eaten is hard to describe, so I only provide the menu, which we jealously kept in memory of a dinner beyond any expectation. Really epic! And, for my part, appointment to Pieve d'Alpago for a dinner at the restaurant! Here's what we've been served: Starter : Cream of Champagne, ginger and potato with local scallops Wine : Vespaiolo 2016 Contrà Soarda First course : Pistachio Risotto with Mazzancolle prawns and chilly infused honey Wine : Vespaiolo 2016 Contrà Soarda Main course : Veal tonné “1853 Pellegrino Artusi” Wine : Rosso Zamó 2015 Le Vigne di Zamó Love cake Wine : Champagne J.M. Gobillard et Fils Caramelised fruits and Venetian Gourmandises Wine : Champagne J.M. Gobillard et Fils
We luckily first found the Albergo Dolada in 1996 and had a most amazing dinner unforgettable evening back then, including an overnight stay. Fast forward 22 years we found ourselves again in the Veneto region. As we were forming our plans in the winter, we knew we had to return to the Dolada. Best decision we could have made. I can only say that unbelievably, the experience was notched up a few levels from the last visit didn't think that would be possible. Chef Riccardo welcomed us and our friends, a family of four with a college aged daughter and a son who will be starting his senior year in high school this Fall, with open arms. His communications from the planning emails through our dinner were utterly warm gracious. Still, we were unprepared for what awaited. We gave Chef Riccardo free reign with our menu, simply sharing dietary considerations (one Vegan one G/F Pescatarian in our group), and what he created from there was sheer gastronomic art. The quality of ingredients, the flavor profiles, and the artful presentations started with our first course lasted through dessert. Chef Riccardo's ethical, responsible approach to the source of his ingredients only enhanced our enjoyment of the entire meal. The experience was fully appreciated by all of us from the moment we arrived. It was particularly fun to see the appreciation through the eyes of the kids...not one moment of the experience was lost on them. The ambience, hospitality, and caliber of the meal itself may not be equaled for us till our next visit, which must be sooner than 22 years!! Walks before after dinner in the peaceful, beautiful surrounds perfectly bookended this dining event. And having such perfectly comfortable rooms to slip into when the night ended was icing on the cake. The views of the Dolomites and Lake St. Croce were worthy of the visit on their own. Bravo to Chef Riccardo, Giorgio, and the rest of the Dolada team and grazie mille for your loving effort. We will never forget this night.
As lovers of haute cuisine, innovation and experimentation in the kitchen, bold flavors and discoveries of new ingredients, we couldn't help but fall in love with the tasting menu. That day we were in the room almost alone, we enjoyed the background music, enraptured by the beauty around us. The dividers that recall Japanese houses and allow you to create more intimate spaces, the wooden tables with their history imprinted in the grain. A warm and welcoming environment that prepares for the modern and innovative menu. From our table overlooking Lake Santa Croce we started with a Thai style roll filled with raw vegetables, flowers and a red turnip mayonnaise. A perfect balance of tastes and textures. Another dish that really impressed us was the little egg in paradise, an egg in champagne foam, potatoes and truffle flakes, enhanced by Sbreg a wine of a beautiful color somewhere between rosé and young macerated. The Dolada was a pleasant discovery, fun for the palate and ecstasy for the eyes at every plating. discover other places to try on Instagram @travellingdolce
