Restaurant bewertenStunned to see it was closed on a Monday in august ,many people stopped to find it closed…have gone for many years on our vacations, great food ,great service usually always open,I,m thinking they have a problem with getting employees but this is a tourist place and should of been open for business ,they used to have more employees ,it would never have been closed before…
The four of us passed by this colourful restaurant many times without having stopped. So, we figured we should give this place a chance. The food was less than appetizing although there was plenty of choices on the menu. Each of us had something different and not one of us was pleased. Not very far away is the village with many decent establishments where you can get a good meal. You should go there!
The place was packed, as usual. Food is just OK. Had s cheeseburger and a poutine. They made the cheeseburger so quickly that 2/3 of the cheese slice was outside the bun. For the poutine, fries were cripy and golden, just enough cheese curds, barely any sauce. I think that the original love of food, is now just a business.
This diner serves the basic fare of club chicken, hot chicken, poutine, with a few specials like spaghetti with meat balls. The reason I like it is for their roast pork with potatoes: two large and thick slices of freshly cooked pork roast with mashed potatoes. It is served piping hot, the meat is lean, and the sauce is delicious. Another dish I like is is the club sandwich: three slices of bread (white or whole wheat) filled with tomatoes, lettuce, bacon and a huge portion of hot and juicy chicken breast, served with perfectly fried French fries and cole slaw. This meal is big enough to share with someone else.
We had lunch there- shared a club sandwich adn were really impressed. Real chicken and some of the best fries I have eaten. Interesting thtta you order at the counter and they bring the food to you- which works well instead of hanging around at the counter like most fast food joints. Definitely a cut aobve those ubiquitous fast food joints.
